Creating a Pipeline of Emerging Talent Through Experiential Learning

EngineeRD, in a partnership with Northern Virginia's George Mason University School of Business, teaches process improvement and workflow automation through an experiential learning course. The course is a semester-long externship seminar for the School of Business' Information Systems and Operations Management students.

EngineeRD provides a superior learning experience to a select group of students each semester by offering real industry experience in an agile environment. The company leverages motivated students soon entering the workforce to build out its product offerings; namely the process improvement portfolio. In return, students are exposed to a wide array of commonly used industry technologies and gain relevant technical and soft skills.

Students exit the program having participated in the Systems Development Lifecycle from end to end, including analysis and design all the way to building, deployment and testing of systems to automate workflows and solve real-world business problems. Students become equipped with an advanced understanding of process improvement and future of work concepts, arming them with an edge against their peers in the workforce.
